Access to BOSCORF services and data holdings

BOSCORF will be reopening laboratory services on May 26th. We would encourage anyone considering using the BOSCORF analysis facilities, the open access sediment core collection or preparing a grant proposal to get in touch.

1. Project costings for grant applications:

If you are developing a grant proposal that includes samples from the sediment core collection or the use of the analysis facilities, please email boscorf@noc.ac.uk with an outline of your planned sediment core scanning and/or sampling requirements. We will be able to provide a prompt reply with more information on the analysis services and any associated costs.

2. Scanning of sediment cores:

BOSCORF will be operating the instrument suite from June. We will be accepting samples shipped to the facility for analysis. BOSCORF staff will be undertaking the scanning on behalf of all researchers and PhD students until further notice. Please download and complete an analysis request.

3. Sediment core sampling:

The open access sediment core collection is accessible to BOSCORF staff and we continue to offer a free of charge postal service for samples. Please download and complete sample request form.

4. PhD students:

BOSCORF continues to support PhD students; BOSCORF has over 10 km of sediment core, available for research projects. We also offer BOSCORF funding to support analytical time for PhD students, as well as free access to samples.

5. Talks:

BOSCORF can offer a remote talk to your research group. The talk will outline the facility, our equipment, the sediment core collection and how to access it. In addition, we will highlight some of the recent high impact research that has come from our existing core holdings.

Please note that BOSCORF is closed to all visiting researchers at present.
