BOSCORF Attendance at BSRG 2018

Last December, BOSCORF took a selection of sediment cores to the British Sedimentological Research Group AGM at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. We provided cores to illustrate the contourite facies discussed in one of the pre-AGM sessions, in addition to taking a sample of cores we use for teaching purposes, and several from a wide range of environments that were on display throughout the first day of the conference. This provided us with an excellent opportunity to engage with new researchers who we very much look forward to welcoming to the lab this year. It also gave us a chance to highlight the PhD courses we offer, and we have now confirmed the next run of “Advanced techniques in sediment core analysis and data visualisation” to be run this May.

The BSRG AGM also gave us the chance to speak to several lecturers and teaching staff who were interested in our travelling core practical, if this is something you would be interested in, please do get in touch at boscorf@noc.ac.uk

BOSCORF hopes to offer a workshop at future BSRG AGM’s, to further interact with researchers and new PhD’s who may have use of the lab.
