The 19th Meeting of the Curators of Marine, Lacustrine, and Geological Samples was hosted by Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in June 2019.
These biennial meetings are important events in the curatorial calendar, providing opportunities for curators to share best practise, learn about new technological developments, and improve global accessibility to core datasets. Ten repositories gave oral update reports at the meeting. The three highlight topic sessions took the theme of ‘best practice’ (Core describing and sampling, XRF core scanning and Geotek multi-sensor core logging). The group toured the LDEO core repository and viewed the outreach activities set up within the core lab.
